Protecting and caring for unwanted animals is a rewarding task—but a difficult one. The pets that come to us are in need of all types of care, from a simple bath and clean-up to comprehensive veterinary care. Harbor Humane does everything we can to keep our visitors safe, well-fed and comfortable. But we can’t achieve our goals without your help.

• Talk to your friends, neighbors and family members about spaying or neutering their pets.
• Keep an identification tag on your pet, and get your friends to keep ID tags on their pets.
• Adopt a pet from HHS or the local animal shelter.
• Eliminate dog bites—ask before you or your child pets an unknown animal.
• Hold a neighborhood sale and donate part of your proceeds to HHS.
• Buy a bag of puppy food or a toy and donate it to HHS.
• Contact your local, state and federal representatives about animal issues.
• Educate your children about proper pet care.
• Take pictures of your pets to be used if they ever get lost.
