SAVE MORE LIVES, ADOPT YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND!

Our adoption process follows a walk-in first-come, first-served policy with a completed and approved adoption survey. We will not hold animals unless there are additional meet and greet meetings required (dog-to-dog, child meeting). If you have questions regarding our processes or your adoption survey, please email Office@harborhumane.org!

Why so many mixed breeds? You might notice the majority of our dogs are labeled as mixed breeds, or as we like to call them, “Good ol’ American Mutts!” Unless we have DNA testing results on a dog (which we can’t afford to do for dogs in our care) or breed paperwork, we are unable to accurately give a breed label and only a guess on our part based on physical characteristics. Visual breed identification is highly inaccurate. Unless purebred, dogs can be made up of many different breeds! For more information on that, visit here and here

We encourage adopters to get to know dogs they are interested in outside of the kennel and choose dogs based on personality and being a good fit with their family and their lifestyle!

Please note: Due to a high volume of inquires on available puppies, we will NOT be able to respond to emails or phone calls regarding puppies.

REMINDER You must download the adoption survey, complete, and email to Office@harborhumane.org, or fill out in person at the shelter. Your adoption survey must be completed and approved by staff before you are able to adopt an animal.
